(Make sure that you have HR enabled in one of the data fields) Activate broadcast HR mode. Once HR is showing in broadcast mode, switch off HR mode…. JanH over 4 years ago in reply to rtperna +1.
The Fenix 5+ has several sensors including a heart rate sensor. Why is it still necessary to use a chest heart rate monitor in order to get scores on lactate threshold and HRV? Or is there a widget that can measure this with the sensor on the watch?
Since fixing that, I've been able to increase my miles and get much faster with less wear and tear on my legs and heart. I still think the wrist HRM is useful for things like sleeping/resting heart rate, and for multi-day backcountry stuff. But these days, I see it as more of a rough estimate and don't rely on it. 2.
The most common problem is erratic readings - jumping from 135 to 145 or even 155-170 and then back down over the space of 5-10 seconds. So I started wearing HRM-Tri and never see that kind of behavior, so I think it was the watch, not my heart. But now after ~6 weeks, the HRM-Tri suddenly stopped working (battery change didn't fix the issue).
hi, I have a problem with my heart rate moniter in my denim 5x it starts to work at the start of a work out then just sits around 80 as I look at it but clearly my heart rate is way over 110 at least. Do you this my watch is broken ? It’s not even 1 year old just yet. A dedicated community for Garmin users to ask questions, provide answers
The default value for the Wrist Heart Rate setting is Auto. The device automatically uses the wrist-based heart rate monitor unless you pair an ANT+ ® heart rate monitor to the device. NOTE: Disabling the wrist-based heart rate monitor also disables the on-wrist detection feature for Garmin Pay™ payments, and you must enter a passcodezuzbkJG.
