The Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM Lens measures 3.5" x 4.4" (88.5mm x 111.6mm) and weighs 1.4 lb (640g). This is a very nice size and weight for comfortable, sure handling - the build quality makes it a joy to use. The large 82mm filter size is a first for Canon EF Lenses. High quality filters of this size are expensive and at this point, not
Canon 35mm 1.4 II. Jun 21, 2019. 1. Hey guys, Finally, I'm willing to buy a 35mm lens. Everyone says this lens is an overall killer in the bag, and it can be used in much situations. I would personally use it for Portrait and "all arounder". But most for portraits and product photography ( outside natural light ).
The 35 f/2 exhibits strong vignetting until stopped down to at least f/2.8. The 35 f/2's vignetting at f/2 is similar to the Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L USM Lens vignetting at f/1.4. The vignetting will be much less of an issue to 1.6x FOVCF Digital SLR body users. The 35 f/2 scores very well in the distortion department.
As soon as we optically tested the Canon 35mm f/1.4 Mk II lens we couldn’t wait to tear into one for a couple of reasons. One was that Canon has been making a lot of interesting advances in lens mechanics lately, so we’re always excited to look inside their new lenses. Another was that Canon claimed this lens had increased weather

RF version is much lighter, native for EOS, has IS and macro capabilities. The price is much the same.

It is insanely sharp at every aperture from corner to corner, has great bokeh, gives magnificent sunstars and is the world's first and only stabilized professional 85mm lens. It adds image stabilization (IS) and fast autofocus, something not in any other 85mm f/1.4 or f/1.2. The old 85mm f/1.2 L II has no stabilization and very slow autofocus.
The Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM Lens is an awesome lens that is few mms longer and shares the same max aperture. However, this full frame-compatible lens is dramatically different in terms of size, weight and price. Give up 1 stop of aperture opening and the well-loved Canon EF 35mm f/2 IS USM Lens becomes a contender.
